JINGOISM: "An appeal intended to arouse patriotic emotions. Fanatic patriotism"

Jingoism, extreme patriotic zeal, typified by a readiness to go to war in support of a nation's foreign policy. Advocates of Britain's intervention against Russia in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 became known as "jingoes," after the phrase "by jingo" in a music-hall song by G. W. Hunt popular at that time.

We don't want to fight, but, by Jingo! If we do,
We've got the ships, we've got the men, we've got the money, too.

In U.S. history jingoism is also known as "spread-eagleism," after the "spread-eagle" style of patriotic orators. Chauvinism, of French origin, is an equivalent term.
